The City Of Spokane will declare Thursday, October 6th as
Emmylou Harris Day. Spokane City Councilman Brad Stark will
present her with a proclamation declaring October 6th as Emmylou
Harris Day and give her The Keys to The City. This will be done
at 6PM in front of media, at The Spokane Opera House, prior to
the concert.

Emmylou has complete use of her guitar playing fingers! Her mothers' recovery is going incredibly well. Thanks to all who have kept them in their thoughts.

Heartaches and Highways - The Very Best of Emmylou Harris
On July 19, Rhino Records celebrates the artistry of 11-time
Grammy winner and Billboard Century Award recipient Emmylou
Harris with the release of Heartaches And Highways: The Very
Best of Emmylou Harris. Beginning with 1974's "Love Hurts" with
Gram Parsons and ending with a brand-new recording of Randy
Sharp's "The Connection," the album features 20 songs, spanning
more than three decades of Harris' acclaimed catalog.

Emmylou spent some time in Canada with Kate and Anna McGarrigle, the result being two new songs, currently titled "Sailin' Round the Room" and "Song for Sara." - Pictures
While not open to the general public, Emmylou will be performing in Nashville at the Screenwriters Conference after a after a special screening of "Into the West" on June 3. Also on the bill are Jon Randall, Guy Clark and Gillian Welch. The following day she'll be doing an in the round with Shawn Colvin and perhaps others.
On June 9, Emmylou, Buddy Miller and John Hiatt will be performing in the museum at Ellis Island for BMG Music/Direct.
Rhino's newest retrospective will be out July 19th. There's one new song on it.
Sessions - Emmylou will be in the studio with Rosalee Maphis on May 24th, singing on "Ode to Joe" and the following day with Brenda Lee, singing on "Jesus Loves Me."

Emmylou was in the studio with Jamie Hartford recording "Today" with Kim Richey singing harmony for the upcoming John Hartford tribute, "Part of Your History (The Songs of
John Hartford)".Other artists involved with the project include Sam Bush, Bela Fleck, David Grisman, Kathy Mattea, Nanci Griffith, Norman Blake, Tim O'Brien, Ronnie McCoury, Kenny Malone, Mark Howard and Vassar Clements.
The album is due out in March 2005 and can be purchased at Jamie's site and at New Sheriff. We'll hopefully have a clip here next month - for now, there's a picture of Jamie and Emmylou in the 2005 gallery.

Achievement in Folk Music Award.)
The movie "Because of Winn Dixie" is out this month. Jill Cuniff and Emmylou wrote "Cabaret" which is featured on the soundtrack.
Emmylou will be singing on another soundtrack for the upcoming movie "Brokeback Mountain." It's an original song being written for the movie.
Emmylou will be doing a CMT interview to be aired in mid April. It seems the Hot Band is one of CMT's top 20 country bands.
