"New fan because of internet.."

Thanks to the internet and free downloads I found Emmy Lou when
I down loaded Linda Rondstat.WOW love that voice and true grace of the lady.I will admit I do not like all of her songs but most.
I only would listen to rock for thirty years and discoverd
the world of sounds by surfing.I bought Emmylou's Anthology only a fan for a short time will buy more. But now with all the trouble
about down loads I am affraid to discover any one else.
I now like Blue grass Kross,Allen Jackson ,Etta James, and of course Nora Jones.Linda Rondstat and Dolly.ME? I like Counrty.?
All of which I bought there CD"S..I can burn my own but would rather
have the real thing.I have bought more cds in the past three months than I have in twenty years.I still will not listen to a country
station.But at least I try.HA.
Love you Emmy..
From a new fan..
Teresa

Hi, Teresa. Glad you're broadening your musical horizons.

However, your post seems to be somewhat defensive regarding musical downloads from the internet.

Imagine this: ten or twenty years from now, scientists develop the technology that allows an employer to evaluate and record all the thoughts and actions of their employees. You're hired for a new, cushy job. After working maybe six months, and being so recorded, your employer is able to program an android to perfectly mimic all the functions of the employee (you). The android (which requires and asks for no pay at all) is totally able to perform all of your functions; the employee (you) is subsequently discharged.

Would you, upon being fired, go home and download some music before complaining SHRILLY about this dishonest state of affairs?

Welcome Teresa, Always glad to have a new Emmy fan. Now imagine this, you finally go on a chatline and the first person that replies to you is Dan being his usual annoying judgemental self.. We're not all like that.

Your post is, in itself, obviously very judgemental. Perhaps you like to steal music from Emmylou.

Would you buy a car with out trying it? Do you have a favorite Movie that you bought with out seeing it first? Do you always take chances? Are you employed and have never used something that did not belong to you? Now lets talk about judgmental. Is it an attitude or just an idea. I have purchased every CD I have. But I find new artist via the net. Iris Dement for one. Would never have bought a cd without hearing it first.

   Teresa,
If the internet is the way you want to hear new music, see my post on the main board. http://www.kcuvradio.com is playing an Americana format (which means to me - good roots music that mainstream country radio won't touch). Give them a try. They are playing lots of Emmylous' songs.
