Just my few notes from Emmylou's show of Tuesday night, October 2, 2012, at UCLA:

A very straight-forward music recital in historic Royce Hall. Definitely not a rock concert.
A very respectful, older audience, with polite clapping after each song.
Not quite a sellout, with open areas in the balcony, but mostly full downstairs.
Very few, if any, students in the audience, despite the concert occurring on the UCLA campus.
No opening act, no intermission, with 25 songs during 2 hours from 8-10 PM.

Emmylou was backed by her full band, with Phil Madeira, Will Kimbrough, Rickie Simpkins, Chris Donohue, and Bryan Owings.

Among the 25 songs were these 20 titles, which I deciphered from my notes. For the other 5 songs, I either did not know the title, or I could not read my notes.

I thought Emmylou's voice sounded FANTASTIC......solid and full......and she seemed so happy...
She said she had been being Gramma all week/learning how to be a good one.....it obviously energized her.
I needed that show, so thanks again Emmylou. No one speaks to my heart the way you do.
I can't wait for Hardly Strictly Bluegrass!!!
