Posting Photos

Okay, I'll give it a shot.

To post a pic that's on your computer, you can use the "upload attachment" feature that is at the bottom when you open a "post reply" window. Click "upload attachment" and you'll see "filename" and "browse" to the right of it. Click "browse" and a window listing what's on your computer will appear. Double click on the photo you want to post. Then click "add the file" located beside the browse button. You'll then see a window with "Place inline" - use this if you want the pic to appear in the body of your message. Here's an example of how that will look:

This is how the attachment (photo) will appear if you don't place it inline:

There are numerous ways to post photos using urls and links from photos on the internet. If you know the url of the photo you want to post here, use the "IMG" button at the top of the body of the message box. Press "IMG" and [img.][/img.] will appear in the message box. Then put the link of the actual photo that's online that you want to post in between the [img.]and the[/img.].
It'll look something like this:
[img.]http://www.allaccess.com/assets/img/editorial/raw/em/EmmylouHarris.jpg[/img.]
Then hit the "preview" button to check it out.

The Emmylou photos in the above post were on my computer. The same photo below is from a link on a site where I found that photo. It's posted using the [img] method.

Hope this helps a little. I'm not very savvy by any means. I'm hoping others will jump in and give suggestions.

I have a free Photobucket.com account. I upload pics from my computer to there where I can resize, crop and edit them. They also provide links that you can post anywhere. Photobucket has several options, like posting a clickable thumbnail photo like below.

The easiest way to post a photo is obviously using the "upload attachment" feature.

My pleasure, Spodeboy.
As I said,I have very limited knowledge of posting photos but this board seems to make it easier than other sites I've seen. The old Emmylou forum worked wonderfully in its ease of navigation because of less clutter, and I know some people who are used to that would much prefer it over a newer version. But it can help liven up the board, IMO. The only drawback is that people who are on dialup will probably have slower loading pages.
