Steve Earle to guest lecture at Centenary CollegeSinger-songwriter and activist Steve Earle will be Centenary College's Spring 2012 Gates-Ferry Distinguished Visiting Lecturer,
according to a news release.
Earle will hold a question-and-answer session 7 p.m. Feb. 22 and 2 p.m Feb. 24 at the college in Hackettstown (NJ), according to the release.
Both sessions are free and open to the public.
Earle's songs have been recorded by Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Emmylou Harris, Waylon Jennings, The Pretenders, Travis Tritt, and Joan Baez, among others, according to the release. He released his debut album, "Guitar Town," in 1986. The album reached No. 1 on Billboard's country album charts,
according to the release.
Earle recently appeared on the HBO's series, "Treme." His 2011 studio effort, "I'll Never Get Out Of This World Alive," and 14th overall, was released in April 2011.
